Grace Went On The Potty

June 8, 2009
I just have to mention this because it's funny, and the first time it's ever happened for Grace so I feel like I should document it. On this day she went poopy on the potty. Before anyone gets worried, I am NOT potty training her (yet). I could tell she was "working on something" so I brought her into the bathroom and sat her down on the training toilet - and she went. Ryan and I got all excited for her and she thought that was fun. But you probably won't hear more about Grace's potty stuff for a long time. This was a fluke. :)

Rocket Park Birthday

May 31, 2009
My Mom (Grandma Karen) had her birthday on May 18th and we celebrated on Sunday, May 31st by going to "Rocket Park" in Anoka. I don't think that's the official name of it, but that's what my sister called it. It has a big playground with a rocket kids can climb into. We had a picnic, the kids played in the park, the guys threw around some softballs, and we finished with cake. It was really nice outside and we all had a fun time.

Grace, listening to Grandma Karen's musical card. It was playing "You'll Be In My Heart" by Phil Collins. She liked singing to it.

I Like Being in the Buff

May 28, 2009
"I like being naked! I'm free!" That's what Grace is saying. She really does like running around in the buff when I let her. :)

Gorgeous Day Outside

May 28, 2009
It was such a gorgeous day outside! I brought the kids out and let them go to town with dirt, chalk, and a basketball (with a bucket on top).

The Fish Hat

May 25, 2009
My sister Jessi gave us this hat... the "fish" hat. Isn't it cute? I asked the kids to model it for me so I could take a few pictures.

Corn

May 20, 2009
I made some corn on the cob for dinner this night and Grace was really curious about it. And when it was time to eat, she even chowed down right off the cob! I was impressed.

Memorial Weekend 2009

Memorial Weekend 2009 ~ May 23 & 24
The kids and I went up north to Leech Lake for Memorial weekend. Scott had baseball so he couldn't go with us. But my Grandma T. rode with us. It was nice to chat with her during the drive. And my parents went up too, driving separately. We all stayed at my uncle Mike and aunt Diane's place. Here's a bunch of photos from our weekend. Ryan had a blast and he didn't want to leave! We rode four-wheelers (I learned how to drive one), played baseball, threw rocks along the shore, took a boat ride, Ryan went fishing with Grandpa, Grandma, and Mark, we toured the new hotel in town, went shopping and got ice cream, had lots of ticks on us (ick), hung out by the fire, ate s’mores, etc. Lots of fun activities. We'll have to go back again this summer!

This is me, wearing Ryan's helmet. I could barely breathe it was so tight!

This was Grace's outfit for hanging out by the fire. It served two purposes... warmth and keep the ticks out!

RYAN'S BOATING & FISHING ADVENTURE...
Ryan got to drive uncle Mike's boat. Then he went fishing, and caught a big Northern, in grandpa Skip's boat. He was a little scared to stand right next to his fish for a picture though. Afterwards, he was nice and let his fish go but the next day he thought back on the experience and got upset that we didn't keep the fish and eat it....

Grace is conked out on my lap. Looks really comfortable for her!
